Police have withheld the name of the man who was hit on Canal Street near West Broadway at approximately 4:40 a.m.
Eyewitnesses to the incident said that the man was struck hard. One of the drivers in the incident, a driver of a Chevrolet with its front windshield damaged in the accident stayed at the scene.
The other vehicle, according to eyewitnesses is believed to have been a truck.
The unidentified victim was transported by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
