Four teenage passengers were killed in a car crash when the driver, Joseph Beer--a 17-year-old with only a driver’s permit—lost control of the car and sped off the road into a tree. The passenger--Peter Anthony, Chris Khan, Neil Rajaba and Darian Ramnarine—were killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene. Beers survived and was being treated at a Long Island hospital.
Beer lost control of the 2012 Subaru Impreza that friends said his parents just bought for him after he “failed to negotiate a curve,” State Police officials said. Under New York State law, he should not have been driving without a supervising driver in the car who is age 21 or older and has a valid license, according to the state Department of Motor Vehicles.
