A Long Island Halloween-themed rave concert at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Unoindale went out of control, causing at least 100 teenagers to require medical treatment.
According to police, the 14- to 18-year-olds were treated for intoxication on Saturday night at the dance and electronica music event called Haunted Coliseum. Several were taken to the hospital. In addition, witnesses say there was widespread use of the drug Ecstasy at the concert.
The sold-out event, which featured artists Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso and Otto Knows, was shut down around 11.15pm with several 911 calls coming in reporting the underage drinkers.
Addng to the chaos, a man landed a Bell helicopter on the coliseum’s west side around midnight, after initially trying to land it and backaing away. Michael Croissant, 44, was taken and arrested from that aircraft with police saying he landed near at least 20 people.
