Two separate crashes at two different locations on the Sunrise Highway on Monday October 24, 2016 have left two people seriously injured.
According to authorities, one of the accidents occurred when a southbound motorcyclist driving on Bedford Avenue collided with a northbound truck that was attempting to make a left onto Sunrise Highway. The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The unidentified motorcyclist, a 54-year-old man, suffered serious chest and leg injuries. He was listed in critical condition.
The second accident occurred when a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just east of Connetquot Avenue.
Suffolk police said that the crash happened about 8:15 p.m. The pedestrian was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.
No charges were filed by police for either accident.
