Posted on Jul 20, 2010

Five teens driving on the Meadowbrook Parkway were involved in a single car accident. The teens were driving to their summer job, where they work as camp counselors for Camp Anchor. Camp Anchor is a town run camp in Lido Beach. It is a camp for about 600 adults and children with disabilities. Camp Anchor stands for Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation. The accident occurred on Thursday July 15 at around 8:45 in the morning.

The car was being driven by 20 year old Justine Mulhall. In the front seat was her brother Michael, who died in the crash. In the back seat were sisters Jamie, age 22, and Paige Malone, age 19, both died in the crash. Kelly Murphy, age 20, was also in the back seat. Kelly and the driver were the only two that survived the crash. They were both treated at Nassau County Medical Center with injuries.

The crash occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The cause of the crash is still not determined. Police have ruled out alcohol.
