Syosset Taxi Cab Driver and Passenger Trapped Inside Burning Cab
Posted on Jun 23, 2010
An accident occurred yesterday June 22, causing train service to be shut down between Hicksville and Huntington. A taxi cab driver from Syosset was driving a passenger to their wanted destination when he lost control of his cab. The taxi cab driver blames faulty brakes for losing control, which caused him to crash through a fence and end up on the third rail of the LIRR. The cab then caught on fire with the driver and passenger still inside. Firefighters pulled both from the burning vehicle. Both, driver and passenger, were taken to Syosset Hospital with minor injuries.
