A hit and run accident involving a stolen vehicle has left one woman pedestrian dead and another person injured in Brooklyn on Sunday.
According to police, the SUV was stolen from a nearby shopping center on Friday. The two suspects, shown on surveillance video shows two suspects who fled the scene from the stolen vehicle after the driver lost control of the Toyota 4-Runner after it crashed into another vehicle and spun out, sending it over the curb on the intersection of East 94th Street and Avenue K in Canarsie.
The crash slammed into Chooi Tan, 51, and her 57-year old companion who were walking near the intersection. Tan, a resident of Brooklyn was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where she later died as the result of the injuries she sustained in the accident. The other pedestrian was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash that caused the fatal accident was also transported to the hospital.
No arrests have been made and the police are still asking for the public’s help in finding the two suspects who were involved in the fatal accident.
