Man Faints in Street, Struck in Hit and Run

Posted on Jan 19, 2017
Red lightA strange story has come out of Midtown earlier this week. A hairstylist stepped out of their establishment at West 35th Street and 7th. He was taking a cigarette break and having a chat with a customer. Suddenly, the man started to feel dizzy. He stumbled and fell onto the ground. His head leaned into the lane of traffic. A black van ran over his head and kept going, a hit-and-run. Every bone in his face was broken. He is now in critical condition.

The customer believes that the black van may not have even realized he struck the man due to his position after falling. Nevertheless, it is still a hit-and-run accident. Police are searching for the van now.

It is going to take extensive reconstructive surgery to repair the man’s face.

It doesn’t matter if you didn’t feel the accident or not. If you injure someone with your vehicle and leave the scene, you are guilty of hit and run. This is a very serious charge from both a criminal and a civil standpoint. If you are convicted of hit and run, you will have a very low chance of winning against a plaintiff who wants damages. Especially if that plaintiff has us on their side.
