Long Island Estate is Sued by Accident Victim's Estate

Posted on Dec 11, 2009

Two victims of the wrong-way crash that killed eight people on a New York highway have filed a lawsuit against the estate   of    Diane Schuler. The estate of Guy and Michael Bastardi have filed suit against the estate of the Long Island mother who was blamed for the July 26th crash. The collision with the Bastardis' SUV killed Schuler, her 2-year-old daughter, three young nieces, the Bastardis and their friend Daniel Longo, 74. Schuler's 5-year-old son, Bryan, survived. The lawsuit was filed in White plains and claims that the victims suffered tremendous pain and suffering before they died. Although Diane Schuler's husband has refused to act as administrator of her estate the Public Administrator will step in and and will be the named defendant. The defendants clearly want to question the Diane Schulers husband and ask him what he knew about his wife's drinking and specifically what she may have consumed (either alcohol or drugs) prior to the accident.
