Long Island Driver Arrested- Drunk Driving-Leandra's Law

It appears that a 50 year old Riverhead Long Island man has been arrested and charged with breaking Leandra's Law. The arrest took place in the Throgs Neck section of The Bronx when the man was driving with his 3 year old daughter in the backseat. The police say the man was seen driving at high speeds which resulted in the pull over. Under the Cild Protection Act otherwise known as Leandra's Law, it is a felony for anyone to drive while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs with children 15 years or younger in the car. Previous to Leandra's Law it was a misdemeanor to drive while intoxicated and then it could be reduced to a traffic violation.
