Long Island Car Accidents and Texting

According to the Frederal Department of Highway Transportation nearly 100 teenagers from New York City and Long Island have died from texting. According to Senator Charles Schumer half of those teenagers are from Long Island. The ban which became law in New York on November 1st 2009 should be extended nationwide so says Schumer. The announcement by Schumer came during the Distracted Drivers Summit in Washington D.C.. The summit was organized by the Department of Transportation which is looking for different ways to combat a nationwide growing problem.
