Hicksville Long Island Accident at Daycare Results in Death

Carousel Daycare owner Eugene Formica and assistant director Kathryn Cordaro are being charged with the death of a 2 years old after she choked on a carrot on March 17, 2009. They are being charged with several charges including felony reckless assault of a child by a daycare provider, which they have pleaded not guilty to. Prosecutors are pursuing the felony under the "Jeremy and Julia's Law. This law was used in 1998 when infants died in Albany and Florida daycares.
