Fatality on the Sunrise Highway

Posted on Jan 05, 2017
shattered glassWhen a vehicle gets into an accident, other vehicles have to scramble to avoid it. This can lead to chain reaction accidents. One false move can cascade into a tragic situation for many. Narrow or busy roads make this worse. Too often, the others caught up in the accident are caught unaware.

Such a crash happened in Holbrook over the New Year’s weekend on the Sunrise Highway.

A Bay Shore woman was killed in a chain-reaction accident when her vehicle crashed into another accident near exit 50.

The vehicle in front of her crashed into two other vehicles. She couldn’t dodge in time and crashed head-on. The rebound was so strong, the vehicle spun around completely. The occupants of the other vehicles were mostly uninjured, but she died after reaching the hospital.

If you are caught in a chain reaction, it’s important to get as much documentation as you can. Your insurance company will want to know as many details as they can to try and determine who was the most at fault. But sometimes, this can lead to companies skimping too much on payments that you need to get back on your feet.

Don’t let this happen to you. If you’ve been involved in a chain-reaction accident, you need to have someone on your side to fight for your share of compensation. If you live on Long Island, contact the office of Goldstein & Bashner today for a free, no-obligation consultation. We are here to help you get back on your feet.
