Why should somebody who has been in accident be victimized twice?

Well, Well Well. Can it be true? Has The State of New York is about to sign into law Senate Bill #66002 otherwise known in my office as "is this really possible" bill. The guts of the bill provides protection for accident victims who get hit by thier  health insurance company for monies that the insurance company paid out for treatment related to the underlying accident. For example, a person who has been very badly hurt in a car accident and uses up his or her no-fault benefits may then use thier private insurance to cover the balance of treatments. Somebody who is hurt because of a broken sidewalk or involved in a construction accident may use thier private insurance for all treatments. If the victim is able to get any money from any legal claims brought on thier behalf the health insurance companies used to stick thier nose into the lawsuit and get all their money back. Seems unfair? Well it was. In some cases the client was left with little or no money. To make matters worse different courts in New York were deciding  this issue differently. Now Governor Patterson can clean this unfair mess up with his signature. We hope that he makes the right choice. Its about time somebody stands up fights for whats right!
